| | I'm not emo, I just feel like I'm losing my sense of self-preservation. What's the point of having children? Many people have children because they think it would be great for them to start a family when in fact creating more humans would just cause much more damage to the Earth (through carbon dioxide emissions, using more resources to sustain more life) & continue to overcrowd an already overpopulated planet. It's kind of egotistical in a sense, creating a living being that is a part of you & trying to live vicariously through them. Instead of naming children, why don't we let them choose their own name (both name & surname)? Do I really need my family's name to live on, even centuries after our civilization finally dies out? If every organized religion believes that the next world is better than this one, why haven't we killed each other off already? If anything, we do much more bad than good to this world and to other organisms. If 2012 is really the end, it would be a blessing.
