I'm not emo, I just feel like I'm losing my sense of self-preservation. What's the point of having children? Many people have children because they think it would be great for them to start a family when in fact creating more humans would just cause much more damage to the Earth (through carbon dioxide emissions, using more resources to sustain more life) & continue to overcrowd an already overpopulated planet. It's kind of egotistical in a sense, creating a living being that is a part of you & trying to live vicariously through them. Instead of naming children, why don't we let them choose their own name (both name & surname)? Do I really need my family's name to live on, even centuries after our civilization finally dies out? If every organized religion believes that the next world is better than this one, why haven't we killed each other off already? If anything, we do much more bad than good to this world and to other organisms. If 2012 is really the end, it would be a blessing.

I think I hold so-called "sluts" in higher regard than most people do. If the whole belief that someone who sleeps around doesn't love them self is true, then spreading the love is rather altruistic if you think about it. I have no problem with the promiscuous as long as they are not going around destroying relationships and/or knowingly spreading STDs without concern over the welfare of others. It also brings about the whole double standard of a man who is promiscuous = "The Man"; a woman who is promiscuous = "A Slut". It is these and other social mores that hold us back from truly being equal.

I've always heard the idea that people and experiences, regardless of positive or negative outcomes, shape the person you are today. The issue I have with that statement is that I absolutely hate the person I've become. Rarely would you see me use the word 'hate', but in this case, its use is justified. If only I could have the last four years of my life resetted, along with being given some information in order to prevent and avoid of what is to come. My hope for the better is wearing thin and I truly believe this is my last year.
